Recycling and Waste Collection Tricycle
An updated version of this custom cargo trike is now a standard WorkCycles model. This first test model is still in service gathering and depositing the recycling at a business park in Holland.
Its a handy format: Each side of the aluminium container has a large hatch to access the inner compartment. The front panel is also hinged at the top to quickly remove the contents and clean the inside if necessary.
Such a bicycle can be safely ridden around the campus by an employee without a driver's license. No insurance or fuel is needed and there's almost no maintenance needed.
In case you're curious what the little red knob on top is... Its not a light or anything fancy. Its just a rubber bumper to prevent the hatch doors from being scratched on the hinges.
